Biography

Terms in office: 2007-2013

Alderman Pincott is now in his second term as Alderman for Ward 11. As a member of Calgary City Council, Brian has dedicated himself to fostering a culture of sustainability in the city of Calgary; something he has been passionate about since moving to Calgary in 1996.

Brian believes the best way to build a city is by including citizens in the building process. This is why he continues to work to make City Hall more accessible to the public, and to show the public how their ideas can be the driving force behind City decision making.

Brian's integrated approach to community building is reflected by his participation in the following committees of Council:

  • Audit Committee
  • Standing Policy Committee on Finance and Corporate Services
  • Standing Policy Committee on Community and Protective Services
  • Intergovernmental Affairs
  • Calgary Economic Development
  • Calgary Arts Development
  • Calgary Housing Company
  • Attainable Homes Calgary Corporation
  • Calgary River Valleys

Brian graduated from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Arts in 1985. From that time until his election to City Council, Brian worked in the theatre industry across Canada in a variety of roles, mostly as a lighting designer. Most recently he was Production Manager for Alberta Theatre Projects.
