As your representative on Calgary City Council, I am committed to ensuring that Ward 4 is fairly and equitably represented in all deliberations on Council. As a resident of Sandstone and past member of the Beddington Community Association Board, I urge you to actively participate in your community. It is often said that "people make a place" by collectively collaborating on projects and concerns we can all make a difference and improve our community.

Biography
First elected Ward 4 Alderman in 2010, Gael MacLeod is committed to bringing a balanced approach to city planning, budgets and policy decisions. Gael has a strong record of public service and more than 30 years of executive, business and financial experience in the non-profit, banking and government sectors.
Her leadership skills and experience were evident in her strong commitment to affordable housing through her contributions to the 10-year Plan to End Homelessness and while on the Board of Attainable Homes Calgary Corporation, a city-owned corporation that facilitates home ownership for low income Calgarians.
She has been on the Board of Directors for a variety of community organizations including the YWCA, the Calgary Chamber of Voluntary Organizations, the Calgary Community Land Trust and the Beddington Community Association.
She was also chair of the Board of Directors of the Calgary Community Lottery Board, which annually allocated $15.2 million of provincial lottery revenues to various non-profit organizations in Calgary.
Gael now brings that same commitment and experience to her new role as Chair of Calgary Housing Company.

Gael has lived in Sandstone for 16 years and values the diversity of communities and business areas that make up Ward 4.
Early in her first term, Gael’s desire to understand the needs of Ward 4 communities led her to start Community Walkabouts. These walking tours, led by residents, highlight community concerns from their perspectives.
The grass-roots connections and community knowledge gained from these tours help Gael better advocate for the city services, transportation and infrastructure needs of Ward 4 residents.
Gael earned her Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Alberta and her Master of Business Administration at Royal Roads University. Gael is a strong supporter of life-long learning as evident by numerous other designations.
Gael is also an accomplished swimmer and enjoys recreational running with friends on city pathways.
