O Canada  O Calgary
Calgary Celebrates Canada!

Celebrating Canada's 150th birthday is an opportune time to look back and learn how Calgarians celebrated July 1st in years gone by. Whether it was called Dominion Day or Canada Day, we have always been ready to celebrate!

This exhibit explores some of the ways in which The City of Calgary has celebrated in the past and it highlights the last big national celebration, the 1967 Centennial of Confederation. That year saw the opening of Confederation Park, which was marked by the burying of a time capsule to be opened on July 1st 2017, and it was. You can now see the time capsule and copies of some of its contents in this exhibit.

Partake in this celebration of Canada 150 in the Municipal Atrium until the end of 2017.
