What we heard

You’ve said that Police Services is one of the top three City services and one of the top five areas where investment is important. You’ve told us that violent crimes, drugs, gang crimes, crime prevention, and property crimes are key areas of focus, and police visibility is important. You feel less safe than in the past, perceiving an increase in crime due to the economic downturn, changing demographics, and media coverage.

You feel safety, overall satisfaction, and confidence in the police are high but have been decreasing. Community partnerships and transparency help build safer neighbourhoods and increase public trust.
