Areas of focus: As the Chief Human Resources Officer, Mark’s primary roles are to influence the organization's overall performance, lead human capital strategy, promote organizational effectiveness, and increase collaboration by advancing an innovative leadership mindset - all done through an evidenced-based approach.
Career history: With over 23 years of human resources experience, Mark is a Certified Human Resources Professional with a Master of Business Administration in Human Resources Management, a Bachelor, Human Resources Management and Labour Relations (Distinction), as well as numerous certificates in human resources and business administration.
A 15 year veteran of The City of Calgary, Mark has extensive experience leading organizational change, innovation, talent acquisition, leadership development, labour relations, compensation, and succession planning. Prior to his current role, he held the position of Manager of Talent Acquisition and Planning. Mark also brings experience through his numerous HR leadership positions both within and outside of The City of Calgary, including operations leadership roles in the private sector.
