PARK(ing) Day

About the pilot

On September 16, 2016 The City is holding a pilot pop-up event to celebrate PARK(ing) Day, an annual worldwide event where artists, designers and citizens transform metered parking spots into temporary public spaces.

Taking place in Inglewood from noon to 6 p.m., the pilot involves the temporary closure of a total of eight parking spots, between two sites, which will be transformed into space that can be used and explored by the public.

The pilot will be used to examine how pop-up spaces can be utilized to enhance the public realm, in turn helping make our communities more vibrant and creative. The City is working with the Inglewood BRZ to ensure that there is minimal disruption during this time and will also be erecting barricades on the street to ensure the safety of this space.

Site A: Six spots on 9th Avenue S.E. between 11th and 12th Street S.E.
