Calculating business tax
Business tax is levied on any business that occupies space within the city of Calgary during the calendar year.
Your business tax levy is calculated by multiplying the assessed value of the business space by the tax rate, which is set annually by City Council.
Business taxes are based on the calendar year, January 1 to December 31.
The 2012 business tax rate is 0.0809.
| For example, |
Assessed value |
$10,000 |
| x 2012 tax rate |
0.0809 |
| 2012 tax levy |
$ 809.00 |
Taxes are due and payable on the date shown on the tax bill.
