The future of Anderson Station
The final development application to redevelop 20 acres of City-owned land located at the Anderson Station Transit Oriented Development (TOD) site was presented at a Public Hearing of Council on October 5, 2015, where City Council referred the application back to Administration for further refinement based upon other work streams including Transit’s Parking Strategy known as the Anderson Station Park and Ride Plan
(updated October 2016), returning to Council, through Calgary Planning Commission (CPC) when the work is complete.
The City's Planning Administration presented our proposal to CPC August 27 2015, following the Real Estate & Development Services (RE&DS) submission of the Outline Plan and Land Use Re-designation Application in September 2014. The application was approved by CPC.
Anderson Station Park and Ride Plan
On October 3 2016, City Council approved a new approach for the park and ride stall plan for the Anderson Station site.
The Anderson Station Park and Ride Plan
outlines a revised phasing strategy that would account for no net loss of park and ride stalls as the proposed Anderson Station TOD project develops.
During redevelopment, stall numbers reduced at Anderson Station would be replaced at other Red Line and future Green Line LRT stations.
- January - June 2015: Revisions are made to the proposal based on feedback from The City and citizens.
- July - September 2015: RE&DS provided an update to the community on the results of the Transportation Impact Analysis (TIA) and any major changes which may have occurred during the review process.
- August 2015: The Anderson TOD Outline Plan and Land Use Re-designation Application was presented to the Calgary Planning Commission (CPC) for review and recommendation was made to City Council.
- October 2015: The Anderson TOD Land Use application was presented at a Public Hearing of Council October 5 2015, where City Council referred the application back Administration for further refinement.
