The Bridges has been recognized locally, nationally and at an international level for its planning, urban design, and sustainability. The Bridges development have won the following awards:
Mayor's Urban Design Awards (MUDA)
The Bow Valley Concept Plan was bestowed the Award of Excellence in the category of Approved or Adopted Urban Design Plans (Bow Valley Centre Concept Plan) at the 2005 Mayor's Urban Design Awards (MUDA).
National Urban Design Award
The award was presented in recognition of the excellence in urban design and achievement in enhancing the quality of life in Calgary.
The Bow Valley Centre Concept Plan was awarded the National Urban Design Award 2005 in the category of "Approved or Adopted Urban Design Plan".
This award was bestowed by the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) and was selected from winning entries of the local 2005 Mayor's Urban Design Awards (MUDA).
Canadian Urban Institute Brownie Award
The Canadian Urban Institute's annual Brownie Awards program recognizes leadership, innovation and environmental sustainability in brownfields redevelopment across Canada. The Bridges was recognized for its use of green design and principals.
Alberta Association of Canadian Institute of Planners
The Awards Committee determined that it demonstrated excellence in the areas of Urban Design, Community Planning and Public Participation.
Canadian Society of Landscape Architects (CSLA) Professional Award
In 2001, The Bridges received the Regional Citation for its Bow Valley Centre Redevelopment Concept Plan at the 2001 Canadian Society of Landscape Architects (CSLA) Professional Awards.
The Award of Excellence honours distinctive design, ground breaking research, and sustainalbe landscape management.
