Animal & Bylaw Services works to promote communities where residents can live side by side safely and respectfully being considerate of the needs and rights of others. We value education, voluntary bylaw compliance, and community-based solutions to local issues.
Calgarians work hard to keep their city clean and safe. To encourage this, Animal & Bylaw Services administers the Community Standards Fund. The funding is for communities to undertake projects that assist in ongoing compliance with the
Community Standards Bylaw 5M2004 and to promote community crime prevention.
Projects are to be small-scale capital projects. Examples include lighting in and around your Community Centre to deter vandalism or defined operational projects such as a responsible pet ownership campaign. The projects must be completed by mid-December 2013 and the fund is not intended to support long-term projects or to fund staff positions. The qualification standards are included with the Community Standards Fund Application Package.
