Youth summer programs

Looking for some free, high quality programs for youth? We offer programs in various Calgary communities that are open at no cost. These registered and drop-in programs offer many different activities for youth and are available in various community locations across Calgary.

Registered Programs

Local Roamer (12 - 17 Y)

Youth 12-17 are invited to explore their community as well as surrounding neighbourhoods in our new free Local Roamers program. We will navigate through neighborhoods by Calgary transit, bike, bus and foot to local parks and attractions. Youth will learn about hidden treasures close to home and spend each afternoon working together, exploring and learning new skills.

LEAD (12 - 17 Y)

LEAD is a free youth leadership program for participants 12 years and up. Participants will make new friends, learn lifelong skills such as communication, teamwork, conflict management, problem-solving and decision-making and discover how they can make a difference in the community.

Drop-in Programs

Breakout Youth (12 - 17 Y)

During each week of our free Breakout Youth program, participants will have fun in an engaging environment. Specialty areas include sports, leadership, arts and cooking. Breakout Youth participants will venture on an off-site trip each Thursday and will have the chance to spend the week meeting new friends and learning new skills.

Zone Up (11 - 15 Y)

Youth will have the opportunity to expand their basketball abilities and develop leadership skills for both on and off the court. This free program will offer youth fundamental basketball skills such as shooting, ball handling, defense, passing and footwork. Participants will also discover healthy living strategies and develop an increased sense of community belonging.​
