Bow and Elbow River Boating Advisory Issued
In light of the recent rainfall, the Calgary Fire Department is advising Calgarians against partaking in boating activities in any type of watercraft on the Bow and Elbow Rivers until further notice. The river conditions are becoming dangerous and pose a safety risk for anyone on either of the rivers.
Increased water flows will result in additional debris which is hazardous to anyone in a watercraft.
The Calgary Fire Department is also advising citizens to stay off the river banks as the fast-moving water can cause the banks to collapse and we would like to emphasise that this is an advisory.
If you witness anyone in distress in or on the water, please call 9-1-1 immediately.
