Calgary Emergency Management Agency (CEMA)

Whether it is floods, fires, or influenza, emergencies affecting a few or many people can strike any time, anywhere.

While it is not always possible to avoid these emergencies, we can be prepared. The Calgary Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) plans and coordinates emergency services and resources during major emergencies and disasters.

Calgary Emergency Management Agency

Understanding that being prepared in a crisis situation leads to a stronger, more resilient community, CEMA works with other City departments, corporations, communities and non-profit agencies to increase our capacity to be prepared, become less vulnerable, and recover more quickly from a disaster.

Personal preparedness can assist you and your family greatly in the event of an emergency. Be equipped to support you and your family for up to 72 hours (3 days) after an emergency. This will help you manage until emergency responders can reach you and allows them to focus their efforts on those in immediate danger. Learn how to put together your own 72-hour kit.
