The Calgary Fire Department is rebuilding the Mount Pleasant Fire Station 7 at 2708 4th Street NW. The Calgary Fire Department has moved out of the station and into a temporary fire station at 430 36th Avenue N.E. until the new station is rebuilt.
Community art project
To celebrate a new fire station in Mount Pleasant, the Calgary Fire Department partnered with the North Mount Pleasant Arts Centre and the community of Mount Pleasant to create an art project to transform the construction fencing along 4th Street N.W. while the station is under construction. Our project, called ‘Many Hands Make Artwork,’ is a temporary interactive art installation along 4th Street N.W., that can be seen and enjoyed during the tear-down and construction of the new Mount Pleasant Fire Station.
Fire station building plans
This new Mount Pleasant Fire Station 7 will replace the current building, which is almost 50 years old, at 2708 4th Street N.W. Construction, which will include the demolition of Fire Station 7 and rebuilding of a new one, is anticipated to begin by the end of 2015. The new Fire Station 7 is expected to be complete by the end of 2017.
We anticipate there will be noise due to the construction, however, the Calgary Fire Department and all our contractors follow the City of Calgary noise bylaws to limit the inconvenience to nearby neighbours.
