Parks under construction

The City is committed to maintaining the vitality of its parks and natural areas. This involves routinely upgrading established parks, pathways, playgrounds and natural areas as well as creating new parks to ensure their longevity and sustainability, and the safety of park users and the wildlife.

Parks currently under construction

The following Calgary parks are currently undergoing upgrades and/or redevelopment:

• Beltline - new park
• Bowmont Park - project updates
• Bowness Park - part of the ENMAX Parks Program
• Century Gardens - early stages of redevelopment
• Clearwater Legacy Park
• Confederation Park wetland - enhancement project
• Downtown parks - various improvements inlcuding the new downtown west end park
• Eau Claire Plaza - concept plan
• East Victoria Park – new park
• Established Communities - upgrading several parks in older communities
• Laycock Park wetland - restoration project
• Memorial Drive - Landscape of Memory
• Nose Hill - trail and pathway improvement
• Poppy Plaza - Opening and Community Celebration, June 8, 2013
• River Park/Sandy Beach/Britannia Slopes 
• Southland Park improvement project
