Our courses are designed to improve your birdwatching skills whether you are a beginner or advanced birder. You will learn about avian flight, bird species and their seasonal adaptations, and will leave our courses with expert information on birding equipment and identification techniques.

World of Wetlands Birds
(12 years+)

Home to a colony of migratory cliff swallows, Ralph Klein Park offers sightings of bird species rarely seen in urban areas. Learn about the amazing birds found in Canada’s largest man-made wetland, including American pelicans, great blue herons and western meadowlarks, and spot these unique flyers during a guided tour of the park. This course takes place outdoors, so please dress for the weather.

Learn to Birdwatch (12 years+)

Discover the fascinating world of birdwatching! This beginner course will introduce you to the basics of birding, including what equipment to use, where the best viewing locations are and what to look for when identifying these fantastic flyers.

Our expert birder will share information about local bird species and will provide tips and tricks on how to get the most out of your birdwatching experience. This course combines class and field time, so please dress for the weather.
