Birdwatching courses

Birding programs

There’s nothing better than the feeling of discovery! That’s the feeling you’ll be left with after participating in one of our birdwatching courses. From learning how to identify the over 270 species of birds that call Calgary home to perhaps discovering a new species that’s here for a visit, our beginner birding courses will set you on the path to finding a new hobby or appreciation for the outdoors.

Fall Migrants

The time for migration is quickly approaching! Take the opportunity to observe songbirds, waterfowl and raptors with an expert birder, and learn about species that migrate to Alberta for the winter. An experienced birder will guide this tour through Confederation Park, providing information on migration routes, avian navigation and identification tips. This course takes place outdoors, so please dress for the weather.
