The City has been leading a variety of courses, classes, day camps, nature walks and events in Calgary's parks for over 30 years. Parks offers many programs that families and individuals can participate in.

Healthy Yards Program

The Healthy Yards Program is a Calgarian's guide to a healthy and beautiful yard! The program offers an environmentally-friendly approach to yard, lawn and garden care in Calgary.

Community gardens are important to the health and well-being of our neighbourhoods – they promote partnerships, provide food and encourage land stewardship Calgary has a long history of community gardens, and The City is pleased to support these gardens by working cooperatively with community associations and gardening organizations.

Tree planting programs

You can contribute to Calgary's urban forest by planting a tree on your property or becoming involved in one of The City's following tree planting initiatives including the NeighbourWoods Program, Arbor Day, Planting Incentive Program, Community Orchards or the Symbolic Tree Program
