Nature programs for summer camps

We offer a variety of nature-themed programs geared towards summer camps. We also offer group programs for children, youth, adults and seniors.

Summer Camp Sizzlers

Looking to add an authentic nature experience to your summer camp program? Bring your group to Ralph Klein Park or have one of our environmental educators come to you! Choose from one of four program themes, each providing a unique adventure jam-packed with educational activities and outdoor exploration. Program is available July through August.

Location: Ralph Klein Park or your camp location (within city limits)

Length: 2 hours
Cost: $150, maximum 30 participants

Program Themes:

Animal Evidence

Become a nature investigator in search of animal clues. Participants will learn tricks and tips for identifying fur, tracks and bones, and will test their skills with animal trivia and a guided nature walk.

Wetland Wonders

Wetlands are full of weird and wonderful creatures. Participants will discover aquatic acrobats, strange swimmers and other wetland wonders during this hands-on insect investigation. Activities will include pond dipping, an art project and nature games. Offered at Ralph Klein Park only.

Nature Photography

Move beyond the simple snapshot into photographs that tell stories, ask questions or provoke emotion. Participants will learn basic elements of composition and complete creative shooting assignments to practice their new skills. A limited number of cameras are available on site. Groups are encouraged to bring their own cameras. Offered at Ralph Klein Park only.

Amazing Adaptations

What do spikes, songs and camouflage have in common? They are all special features (adaptations) that help plants and animals survive in a variety of habitats. Participants will learn how to identify these unique features and discover the role they play in plant and animal survival.
