Introduction to Field Journalling

A field journal is an essential tool for scientists and explorers alike. It is a tool where observations, connections, questions and new ideas are recorded; a tool that the author, or other like-minded explorers, can use to cultivate future explorations many years from now.

In this workshop, we will guide you through various scientific field journalling techniques and provide some helpful tips that you can use in your classroom.

My Sense of Nature

Let your senses run wild as you experience nature in a whole new way. We will guide you through various activities you can use in your classroom to help your students connect with nature using their senses. The program will include a short-form pond study, sensory journalling and a guided nature walk. Note: the outcomes of this workshop align with learning objectives outlined in the Grade 1–3 Alberta Science Program of Studies.

Natural Connections

Bring the wonders of nature to your classroom! Learn how to help your students connect with nature, how to introduce and explore environmental issues, and how to encourage your students to be natural stewards.
