Please note: Calgary Recreation is improving accessibility in facilities whenever upgrades are done. Levels of accessibility vary according to when our facilities were built and when major renovations were completed, so not all parts of the facility may be “accessible for all”. This information indicates the parts of the facility that are barrier-free and is provided to help customer(s) with a disability find a facility that can meet their particular sensory or mobility needs.

Parking

  • 6 designated accessible parking spaces
  • Accessible path of travel leads from parking lot to the entrance

  • Front entrance is at ground level (no stairs)
  • Automatic sliding doors by sensor

  • International symbol of accessibility identifies barrier-free areas of facility
  • Facility signage has a strong colour contrast

  • Female washroom in lobby – barrier-free stall
    • no grab bar on wall
  • Male washroom in lobby – barrier-free stall
    • no grab bar on wall

Interior building elements

  • 1 floor/level in facility
  • Continuous accessible path of travel (public corridor is at least 1100 mm wide) to:
    • Arena & Spectator Seating
      • doors open by a sensor
      • note: path of travel to player's box by pillars is 1000 - 1030 mm
    • Change Rooms
      • no power operated door
    • Vending machine in lobby
  • Spectator seating – have portable ramp for wheelchair seating
  • Alarm system with audible & flashing light
