Thank you for joining the party on July 1, 2014!
This year’s Canada Day celebrations in Calgary attracted an estimated 250,000 people to celebrate our great nation’s 147th birthday. Citizens enjoyed stellar Canadian performances on the Riverfront Stage, participated in creating the largest Living Flag in Calgary to date, experienced Aboriginal culture at the First Nation’s Powwow, danced to the tunes of local DJs with BassBus and awed at the spectacular fireworks show presented by Hudson’s Bay.
This calibre of event would not be possible without the collaborative efforts of our community partners; Fort Calgary, East Village, East Village Street Fair, Calgary Downtown Association, Chinatown, the Calgary Canada Day Committee, and valuable sponsors; Hudson’s Bay, Canadian Heritage, Tourism Calgary, Kool 101.5 FM, 95.3 The PEAK, CTV and the Iniikokaan Aboriginal Center of Bow Valley College.
Thank you Calgary for making Canada Dayyc 2014 special for everyone involved. The true spirit of our great city and our diverse country were evident in the celebrations that rang through downtown from morning til night.
