Canada Day celebrations in Calgary

canada day flag

Canada Day 2017 in Calgary was bigger and better than ever with 650,000 people helping us celebrate our country’s 150th birthday in style. With music from Juno Award winners Tegan and Sara, a spectacular fireworks show synchronized to Canadian music, our biggest-ever Living Flag, the internationally travelled RedBall Project public art installation, an Indigenous showcase, Ian Tyson singing Four Strong Winds in a public guitar riff, kite flying, dancing and outdoor markets – it truly was a day to remember.

But Canada’s sesquicentennial year isn’t over yet and we have lots more in store for you to enjoy. Please keep checking our Canada 150 webpage and social media for more details on the other events we have planned to bring us to the finale on New Year’s Eve.
