Who is E.J. Justice?

E.J. served thousands of Albertans; first as a parish priest in the Anglican Church for 25 years; later as a teacher in the Calgary public and secondary school systems; and lastly as a community volunteer.

E.J started this tournament in 1976 at Lakeview Golf Course because he wanted neighbourhood youth to have the same chance to play in a junior golf tournament just like the kids at the private courses.

EJ Justice

Once it began, E.J. was a one-man-show for years, literally making hundreds of phone calls to ensure junior golfers got out to play, gathered up prizes, pop and food and took money out of his own pocket to cover unforeseen costs.

Years ago, The City Golf Course Operations asked if they could pitch in and run the event on E.J's behalf - and name the tournament after him. We are pleased to carry on his vision and tradition. E.J. enjoyed being a part of the community and we do too!

E.J. Justice passed away on September 6, 2004 at the age of 81.
