Festival and Events 101

Festival and Event 101 sessions are an important means through which The City of Calgary Events Services unit provides ongoing support and professional development opportunities to event organizers.

Topics are chosen based on expressed event organizer need, best practices or as a platform to communicate changes to our policy or process.
All sessions are free but registration is required.  Information on specific sessions will be posted here as it becomes available.

Festival and Events 101 sessions

The City of Calgary is pleased to host a Festivals and Events 101 session on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Historic Holy Angels Civic Building (formerly Cliff Bungalow Arts Centre), 2105 Cliff St SW.

This event is free to anyone who is involved with organizing both large and small scale events, festivals, walks or runs in Calgary.

The evening’s discussions will include:

  • Site Readiness for Inspections – Recommendations from Calgary Fire
  • Changes to the City’s Service Standard Agreement
  • Building a strong Emergency Response Plan for your event
  • How to develop a power plan for your event site
  • Changes to C-Scale in the Community Standards Act: what this means for your sound at your event
