Volunteer with Recreation

Volunteer with Recreation
Lend a hand - volunteer with Recreation!

We frequently recruit volunteers for a wide range of positions in Recreation. You could be doing anything from assisting with programs and lessons to providing guided tours of various City facilities including cemeteries and the Calgary municipal building. We also recruit volunteers for large festivals and events, such as Canada Day.

Volunteer jobs change with the seasons and as different programs are added, so if you don't find a job that interests you today, please check back later.

Why volunteer?

Want to meet new people, gain new skills and spend time getting active? Volunteering with Recreation will provide all these benefits and more. You’ll have fun while feeling good about giving back to the community. We offer full training for all of our volunteer positions and there’s always the potential to turn a volunteer opportunity into a career path.

How to become a volunteer

Volunteering is easy!

  1. Identify your interests, skills, and availability.
  2. Review the above volunteer postings.
  3. A screening process will take place, that may include an interview, reference checks and police checks, depending on the volunteer position.
  4. Training will be provided for all successful volunteers.

Fill out an inquiry online, if you do not see a volunteer opportunity from the above list, that interests you.
