Village Square Leisure Centre offers Playschool, seasonal programs for preschoolers and babysitting. Your preschool aged children can play, learn, and get exercise while you take advantage of our classes, pool and other amenities.
Playschool
Playschool is focused on both education and recreation. Our playschool provides children aged 2-4 years with skills and awareness, emphasizing the value of recreational play, ultimately contributing to lifelong patterns of active living. Playschool includes arts/crafts, circle time, play centre time, snack time, gym, jungle gym and swimming in a safe and nurturing playschool environment.
Your preschooler will grow and develop through a variety of activities that emphasize social, physical, intellectual and emotional development with the guidance of experienced and knowledgeable instructors.
For the 2 year old classes your child must be 2 years old by October 31, 2013 to register and they do not need to be toilet trained.
NEW - For the 2 1/2 year old classes your child must be 3 years old by March 1, 2014 to register and they do not need to be toilet trained.
For the 3 year old classes your child must be 3 years old by October 31, 2013 and MUST be fully toilet trained.
For the 4 year old classes your child must be 4 years old by March 1, 2014 and MUST be fully toilet trained.
Registration for playschool
2013 - 2014 year:
- Classes run September 2013 to June 2014
- Registration opens March 10th 6:00 – 9:00 pm in person at Village Square Leisure Centre or if paying in full online through eRecreation
- No classes on statutory holidays and scheduled playschool breaks.

- Monthly scheduled payment - in person at Village Square Leisure Centres ONLY with a valid credit card or direct debit.
- Payment in full - online with a valid credit card or in person at Village Square Leisure Centre. You must have a recreation account and PIN # prior to registering. (Please see Step 2 on the Registration for Recreation Programs page for details).
- Siblings attending the programs simultaneously will be given a 10% discount off the least expensive program.

Seasonal programs for preschoolers
Village Square Leisure Centre offers a variety of seasonal programs for preschool age children. We offer programs week day mornings and afternoons, early evenings as well as Saturday and Sunday mornings.
We have un–parented programs for 2 – 6 year olds, as well as parent and tot programs for 10 months to 3 year olds. Please browse the

Babysitting
Let us take care of your children while you take care of your health. Attend one of our many fitness classes, go for a workout or swim while your child visits our babysitting room (parents must remain in the building).
Our babysitting provides short-term care for your child. Our caring, first-aid certified staff will entertain and protect your children while you are having a fun and healthy workout.
Spaces must be pre-booked, minimum of 24 hours to a maximum of 2 weeks, in advance. Cancellations must be made a minimum of 24 hours in advance. Call 403-366-3913.

Jungle gym for preschoolers
Our Jungle Gym has been modernized with specialized equipment featuring soft play areas, cargo nets, a bar and ring station, slides and soft tunnels. For children up to 6 years old, accompanied by a parent.
This space promotes children's development in areas of fine motor, gross motor, balance, strength, kinesthetic awareness, socialization skills and let's not forget fun!
