About the new recreation facilities

The sites have been selected for four new recreation facilities in northwest and southeast Calgary. The City is in the process of developing plans for what amenities will go in each facility. A lot of research and analysis has already been completed on the recreational needs for Calgary including:

NW recreation facility

Northwest Recreation Facility

The vision for the northwest facility is a large regional recreation centre that will act a community hub. People of all ages will come together to play learn, exercise and have fun. It will comprise a blend of leisure and recreational amenities for individuals and families, and competitive sport venues for groups and organizations.

This centre will be a community recreation facility to serve the recreational needs and interests of the residents in the surrounding communities, and the employees in the adjacent business parks.
