Glenmore Aquatic Centre Repairs and Maintenance

Nearly half a century old, Glenmore Aquatic Centre requires replacement of aging mechanical systems and upgrades for worn architectural components. This work is critical for the continued operation of the facility and requires an extended closure to complete.

The facility will be closed from November 24, 2016 to February 27, 2017.

Note: Originally scheduled to open on February 21, 2017, the age of the building resulted in a minor delay in completing the project However, it’s not unusual for unexpected issues to arise in a commercial building of this age, and additional structural and electrical remediation was required, delaying the project by one week. We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to welcoming you back on Monday, February 27, 2017.

This work will improve accessibility, health and safety, operating efficiency and customer experiences.

Work includes:

  • Change room renovations to improve accessibility and maximize the use of space
  • Repairs and mechanical upgrades to improve operating efficiency and system performance
  • Resurfacing (flooring and tiling)
  • Re-grouting and corrosion repairs
  • Replacing washroom fixtures to improve accessibility and efficiency

Customers are encouraged to attend other Tier 1 City of Calgary facilities during the closure. Pro-rated refunds and pass suspensions will also be available for pass holders. To receive a refund or pass suspension, please visit the Glenmore Aquatic Centre.
