Community Investment Fund: Capital Civic Partner Grant Program

Recognizing the increasing financial challenges faced by The City of Calgary’s Civic Partners, $17.1 million has been allocated from the community investment fund from 2012 to 2016 to support them with maintenance needs so they can continue to provide programs, facilities and services in safe and healthy environments.

2012 Civic Partner Grant recipients received a total funding allocation of $5.326 million:

  • The Calgary Zoo: $2.186 Million
  • Heritage Park: $1.801 Million
  • EPCOR Centre: $813,000
  • Calgary TELUS Convention Centre: $260,000
  • Fort Calgary: $135,000
  • Talisman Centre: $131,000

Of the total $5.326 million funding grants made available in 2012, $4.1 million was drawn from the 5-year community investment fund allocation and $1.226 million from existing funding sources previously available to assist Civic Partners with infrastructure maintenance needs.

The City partners with not-for-profit organizations for the common goal of providing recreation, entertainment through the enjoyment of arts, culture and music, and educational opportunities through heritage and history. Through partnership, we make an important contribution to the community and the life of Calgarians.
