Most people search for topics like transit, pet licenses, leisure centres, property taxes and jobs, but we have plenty of information on all city-run services so you can feel confident that we're able to provide the information you need.
Here are some additional search features you may want to use:
- Search suggestions may appear as you’re typing your keywords – feel free to click on these if they match the topic you’re interested in.
- We’ll provide you with a list of popular searches from the last 24 hours. Just click on "popular searches," located right underneath the search bar above. If your topic of interest is really hot right now, it will show up in here.
- If you’re looking specifically for a video or document, refine your search by clicking on the drop down menu just to the right of the search button to show results for only multimedia or documents. You can also search for events, news items and map points.
Having trouble finding what you’re looking for?
You can always browse all of our content using our
site structure. But before you give up on search, try these suggestions:
- Use the words that are most likely to appear on the page. In other words, try to think of the most common term that would be used to describe your topic. For instance, the term "urban greenspace" might not bring up results, but “downtown park” will.
- At the same time, choose descriptive words to narrow down your topic. The term "dog" could refer to dog adoption, impounded dogs, dog licensing or dog off-leash parks, so try to be specific about what you’re looking for.
- Don’t worry about using upper case or punctuation – and if you spell something wrong, we'll provide an auto-suggestion of the correct spelling.
Using the interactive map
Our
interactive map can help you find city services and locations in and around Calgary such as parks, off-leash areas, fire stations, swimming pools, bus stops, events and much more.
To use the map, click on "Select a Category" to choose the type of facility or map listing you're looking for. The map points should then appear - try zooming in and out for more location details. You can also get directions - just click on the tab to the right.
