Applying for permits for all units of a high-rise or multi-family building is time consuming.

Issue

When building a high-rise building, permits are required for each unit in the building if there is gas fireplace installation and electrical work. With some buildings reaching in excess of 200 units, it becomes very time consuming to input each individual permit application.

Changes made

As part of the 2011 eTrades project, a cloning feature was developed in VISTA to allow trade contractors to copy permit application information. If there is a need for multiple permits at the same building, the initial application can be cloned and the suite number and payment information updated to create additional applications.
