Citizens looking to sign up for Recreation programs can call in over the phone or go online to register for a program. However, to transfer or withdraw from a program can only be done over the telephone. The phone process is very lengthy with no wait times provided to the caller. Additionally, fees are applied to a user when changing programs even if they are continuing on with a different City program.
Status: Not feasible
Recreation is looking to move more of their business online with significant improvements to their website, pending budget approval. Improving phone services will not be necessary if these online changes can be made. This project is deemed not feasible by the Cut Red Tape program end date of June 2015, but will continue to be worked on by Recreation through the 2015-2018 Action Plan budgeting.
