Assessment Notices are prepared and mailed by Assessment annually. Property assessment is a value placed on a property for taxation purposes. It reflects the market value of the property based on the market valuation date of July 01, 2011. The City of Calgary annually assesses property to calculate your share of property tax. The 2012 Property Assessment Notices were mailed on Jan. 03, 2012. The value reflected on the Notice was based on the market value of property as of July 01, 2011.
