The zoning (land use designation) is the primary legal control on the use and intensity of development on a parcel of land (not on the design of a project).
If a proposed use for a parcel of land is not allowed in the land use district, it is possible to apply to redesignate the parcel.
How do I find out the zoning on a property?
- Go to My Property
- View a Land Use Map
- Email - plngbldg@calgary.ca
- By fax 403-268-8178 - to request a written Land Use Confirmation letter (fees apply).
Fax your request "Attention: Zoning" and provide a contact phone number so we can call you for your credit card details. Note: If an address contains more than one titled parcel, a letter will be generated for each titled parcel and the appropriate fee applied to each one.
