The Centre City Team is a division of
Land Use Planning & Policy within The City of Calgary. The team works to ensure the vision of the
Centre City Plan, the
Municipal Development Plan and other relevant policy documents are realized within Calgary's Centre City.
The Centre City Team is made up of three groups:
Centre City Planning & Design Policy: - Works with developers, landowners, key community and business groups and other key stakeholders to create policies that achieve the strategic objectives of City Council and contribute to a more compact, walkable and vibrant Centre City (as outlined in the Centre City Plan).
Centre City Implementation:
- Brings leadership, focus, action and awareness to collaboratively achieve and sustain the vision of the Centre City Plan.
- This group leads Clean to the Core and the Centre City Safety Impact Team, both programs are critical in keeping our core a safe and clean place to work, live, play and visit.
Centre City Development Applications:
- Works closely with applicants to ensure all planning applications in the Centre City meet relevant policies and bylaws. These applications are presented to Calgary Planning Commission and City Council on behalf of the applicant.
- This group also oversees the +15 Walkway System.
