Update January 2010
The City of Calgary has initiated the annexation process for a portion of the land within the Sirocco ASP, currently within the MD of Foothills. The portion proposed for annexation was identified as a future urban growth area in the Intermunicipal Development Plan, adopted by both The City and the MD in 1998. The annexation of these lands would see them developed within The City's jurisdiction.
Concurrently, the MD of Foothills has initiated the annexation of Spruce Meadows lands within Calgary. The annexation will change the boundary so that all Spruce Meadows lands are contained within one municipality, the MD of Foothills.
The City of Calgary and the MD of Foothills will be holding a joint public information session regarding their respective annexations.
