On December 2, 2015, Urban Systems submitted an application to The City of Calgary to rezone the Southland Crossing site, located at the northwest corner of Macleod Trail SW and Southland Drive SW.
The existing land use allows for limited large retail uses and no residential uses with a maximum height of 18 metres.
The proposed land use redesignation (rezoning) would allow for mixed use buildings, which include ground-oriented commercial uses with residential uses above. The maximum building height proposed would be 120 metres.
