This year’s Spring Clean-up program is completed, which puts the program approximately two weeks ahead of schedule. Thanks to mild weather and little rain or snow in March crews were able to get a jump start on sweeping activities.
Now that Spring Clean-up has been completed crews can now focus their efforts on summer maintenance programs including pothole repairs, boulevard maintenance, and gravel lane repair.
A parking ban is in effect when a “No Parking” sign is placed on a road during Spring Clean-up. Any vehicle that has not been removed from the area will be tagged and towed.
Spring Clean-up is an annual street sweeping program that removes sanding materials and debris that has accumulated on roads and along major sidewalks and boulevards during the winter months. See the Spring Clean-up FAQ for further details.
Please move your cars from the street so crews can get the street as clean as possible.
How you helped
The City sweeps almost 15,000 lane kilometres of paved roads, and getting the work done is a collaborative effort. We would like to thank Calgarians for their help in moving their cars from the street and their blue, black and green carts on to the curb when sweeping is scheduled.
Although the Spring Clean-up program has finished, ongoing road maintenance and sweeping will continue throughout summer months.
