52 Street S.E. pavement rehabilitation

Calgary Traffic Report 2016 Paving Projects

As part of The City of Calgary’s Pavement Rehabilitation Program, northbound 52 Street S.E. between 72 Avenue S.E. and Erin Woods Drive S.E. is scheduled for rehabilitation during the 2016 construction season.

The City of Calgary would like to thank residents, businesses and commuters for their patience and understanding during the road construction process. Please observe all posted signs and speed limits to ensure the safety of commuters and construction crews.

Project Scope

  • Localized concrete sidewalk or curb and gutter repairs.
  • Localized base repairs will also occur between 72 Avenue and Erin Woods Drive to improve the structure of pavement.
  • Milling of the existing asphalt surface on the entire segment.
  • Overlay with two or more layers of asphalt to provide a structurally sound and smooth surface for the design life.

Timeline

Construction is slated to begin in early May 2016. During the initial phase of construction, concrete repairs will be performed along 52 Street. There will be temporary traffic impacts throughout the construction season; however every effort is being made to ensure the impact of traffic movement is kept to a minimum, when possible, by working on weekends and off peak hours.

We would like to remind Calgarians that schedules are weather and resource dependent and subject to change; any changes could have an impact throughout the phases of work within the schedules.
