Edmonton Trail N.E. pavement rehabilitation

Calgary Traffic Report 2016 Paving Projects

As part of The City of Calgary’s Pavement Rehabilitation Program, Edmonton Trail N.E. between Memorial Drive and 16 Avenue N.E. and 4 Street between Memorial and Edmonton Trail is scheduled for rehabilitation during the 2016 construction season. Cycle track upgrades are also scheduled to be constructed as part of this rehabilitation.

The City of Calgary would like to thank residents, businesses and commuters for their patience and understanding during the road construction process. Please observe all posted signs and speed limits to ensure the safety of commuters and construction crews.

Project Scope

  • Localized concrete sidewalk or curb and gutter repairs.
  • Localized base repairs will also occur between Memorial Drive and 16 Avenue to improve the structure of pavement.
  • Milling of the existing asphalt surface on the entire segment (between Memorial Drive and 16 Avenue N.E.)
  • Overlay with two or more layers of asphalt to provide a structurally sound and smooth surface for the design life.

Timeline

Construction is began near the end of April 2016 with concrete repairs performed along Edmonton Trail. There will be temporary traffic impacts throughout the construction season. Every effort will be made to ensure the impact of traffic movement is kept to a minimum, when possible, by working on weekends and off peak hours.
