Calgary Traffic Report 2016 Paving Projects


As part of The City of Calgary’s Pavement Rehabilitation Program, John Laurie Boulevard N.W. between 40 Avenue and McKnight Boulevard N.W. is scheduled for rehabilitation during the 2016 construction season.

The City of Calgary would like to thank residents, businesses and commuters for their patience and understanding during the road construction process. Please observe all posted signs and speed limits to ensure the safety of commuters and construction crews.

Project Scope

  • Localized concrete sidewalk or curb and gutter repairs.
  • Localized base repairs will also occur between McKnight Boulevard and 40 Avenue to improve the structure of pavement.
  • Milling of the existing asphalt surface on the entire segment.
  • Overlay with two or more layers of asphalt to provide a structurally sound and smooth surface for the design life.

Timeline

Construction is slated to begin towards the end of June 2016. During the initial phase of construction, concrete repairs will be performed along John Laurie Boulevard. There will be temporary traffic impacts throughout the construction season. Every effort will be made to ensure the impact of traffic movement is kept to a minimum, when possible, by working on weekends and off peak hours.
