June-September: 4th Street Night Market
On Saturday June 20, July 18, August 22, September 19 between noon - 10 p.m., the right lane of 12 Ave S.W. will be closed between 2 & 4 St S.W.. There will be temporary transit stops in place nearby.

June 27: Chalk the Block
On Saturday, June 27, from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m., Bowness Rd N.W. will be closed between 44 & 46 St N.W.
Local traffic restrictions will be in place in the surrounding area:
- Through traffic will not be permitted in the event area
- Large vehicles are advised to use 16 Avenue N.W. as an alternate route

July 1: Canada Day
On Wednesday, July 1, 2026, there will be roadway closures and traffic restrictions in the downtown and nearby areas:
East Village / Confluence
- 8 Ave S.E. from the Central Library to 6 St S.E.
- 6 St S.E. from 8 Ave - 9 Ave S.E.
- 5 St S.E. from 7 Ave - 9 Avenue S.E.
- Parking restrictions will be in place on 7 Ave S.E. and 6 St S.E. during this time
Macleod Trail S.E.
- Temporary lane and access impacts near Macleod Tr and 8 Ave S.E.
Stampede Park
Canada Day will end with fireworks launched from Stampede Park at 11 p.m..
- The Stampede grounds will be closed to the public
- Vehicle access near Stampede Park will be restricted during peak times
- Traffic messaging will be in place in surrounding areas to direct drivers
Crescent Heights and surrounding areas
- Traffic messaging will be in place in locations where fireworks visibility is limited
- Drivers will be directed to alternate viewing locations

July 3: Calgary Stampede Parade
On Friday, July 3 there will be staggard closures across downtown for the Calgary Stampede Parade:
Beginning at 6 a.m.
(roads closed for parade set-up)
- 6 St S.E. between 7 & 9 Ave S.E.
- 5 St S.E. between 7 & 9 Ave S.E.
- 6 Ave S.E. between 3 & 5 St S.E.
- 7 Ave S.E. between 4 & 6 St S.E.
- 8 Ave S.E. between 4 & 6 St S.E.
Friday July 3, beginning at 7:30 a.m.
- 9 Ave S.E. between 8 & 3 St S.E.
- 4 St S.E. between 6 & 9 Ave S.E.
- 3 St S.E. between 4 & 9 Ave S.E.
- Westbound 6 Ave from 3 St S.E. to 11 St S.W.
- 10 St S.W. from 6 to 9 Ave S.W.
- Eastbound 9 Ave from 11 St S.W. to 3 St S.E.
The morning connector from Bow Trail to westbound 5 Avenue S.W. will only be open from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. All roads are expected to re-open before or by 2 p.m.
