Information | Woodlands Woodbine Community Drainage Improvements

Field investigations related to the design and Engineering of specific improvements will be undertaken from October 23 to October 30, 2017. Surveying will occur within the four communities of Cedarbrae, Braeside, Woodlands & Woodbine between 90th Avenue SW, Fish Creek Provincial Park, 14th Street SW, and 37th Street SW. While we will strive to limit our impacts to the existing landscape there may be some minor disruptions such as survey stakes and paint markings on the ground. Please do not disturb the survey marks as they are important to our information gathering activities.

For this year’s Stampede parade, The City of Calgary has reserved eight locations along the parade route to accommodate people with mobility challenges (canes, walkers, wheelchairs, scooters) and their friends/families.

Accessible viewing zones will be sectioned-off with barricades, and will have signs indicating they are reserved for people with mobility challenges. Each location will be monitored by a City of Calgary staff member.

The eight accessible viewing zones will be reserved for people with mobility challenges until 8 a.m. on parade day (Friday, July 7). Space is limited, so get there early! If space remains in the viewing areas after 8 a.m., they will be opened up to the public on a first-come, first-served basis.

Accessible viewing zone locations

Accessible viewing zones will be located on 6 Avenue and 9 Avenue, in the following eight areas:

  • On 6 Avenue at: 1 street S.E., 2 Street S.W., 6 Street S.W. and 9 Street S.W.
  • On 9 Avenue at: Centre Street, 2 Street S.W., 6 Street S.W. and 9 Street S.W.

Please note – Roads and sidewalks in downtown Calgary become extremely busy and congested on parade day. We recommend arriving no later than 6:30 or 7 a.m. in order to beat the rush.
