In Spring 2010, The City will begin the construction on pedestrian, bicycle and traffic management measures in the Brentwood/University of Calgary area.
The goal of the new facility is to:
- Increase walking and cycling directness
- Increase convenince
- Increase safety
- Increase comfort
- Decrease the negative impacts of traffic on community liveability
The new facilities respond to the recommendations of the University of Calgary Area Pedestrian and Bicycle Improvement Project and the Council-endorsed Brentwood Station Area Mobility Assessment and Plan. Both projects invited input in 2009 through a community involvement process that included a joint public information session on October 21st, 2009. View the Information Notice and map here.
The status of the measures identified in the Brentwood Station Area Mobility Assessment and Plan that are recommended for implementation by the end of 2012 are outlined in the Project Timeline 2010-2012.
