As part of the Mayor's Environment Expo, the photography contest encourages students to consider the environmental community that surrounds them and to take action to protect it.
If you are a student in grades 7 to 12, grab your camera and capture your community, classroom or neighbourhood. Then enter your best shot into one of the following categories:
- Manufactured Nature
- Nature Aging
- Nature Taking Over
Enter today! The contest closes at 4:00 p.m. on April 21, 2017.
Winners will be recognized at a reception on May 25, 2017. Winning photos will be featured on The City of Calgary's Instagram account and will be displayed during the Mayor's Environment Expo from June 6 - 8.
Winners of the 2016 Youth Photography Contest:
- First Place: Brandon Gill, Western Canada High School, "Green House Gases" category
- Second Place: Philip Milner, Ernest Manning High School, "Air Quality" category
- Third Place: Kayla Rogers, St. Brigid School, "Climate Change" category
