Identifying and addressing emerging environmental issues
Strategic Environmental Initiatives is a function that provides the Environmental Management Business Unit with the opportunity to identify and proactively address other emerging or urgent environmental issues that may potentially affect the community and/or the Corporation before they become critical.
Strategic Environmental Initiatives identify such issues as: groundwater quality and quantity; urban air quality concerns; sustainability and sustainable communities; other issues that may have long-term effects on the environment or the environmental health of Calgarians.
Strategic Initiatives supports the City of Calgary as it applies the
Triple Bottom Line to its operations.
