Cookware, cutlery and small household items

Donate it - Participating Charities

Useable houshold goods can often be donated to various charities. Refer to Alberta's Recycling Hotline for more information. This includes:

  • Dishes, plates, and serving platters
  • Lamps and lampshades
  • Knives
  • Clocks
  • Window blinds
  • Air mattresses
  • Electric toothbrushes
  • Garden hoses and snow shovels
  • Sewing machines
  • Typewriters

Throw it out - Black Cart

If you have broken or unusable cookware or housewares, place them in your black cart.

Do not put in the blue cart as they can damage the sorting machinery.

If you are throwing out a sharp knife, package it safely first by wrapping in two layers of paper and then placing it in a bag or sealed cardboard box. Label as "sharps" with a permanent marker and place in your black cart.
