Dispose of it safely

We accept the small 8.9 cubic feet and 14.9 cubic feet helium tanks in the Household Hazardous Waste Program. Valves must be removed and the cylinder punctured according to the manufacturers’ directions. You can take properly prepared helium tanks to any of The City landfill Throw 'n' Go areas or designated fire stations, free of charge. (Note: charges will apply at the Throw 'n' Go for mixed loads containing more than just household hazardous waste).

Helium tanks are not accepted in black carts, blue carts or at community recycling depots.
