Light bulbs - Incandescent and halogen

Throw it out

Up to six incandescent light bulbs (traditional household bulbs) or halogen light bulbs can be packaged properly and placed in your black cart.

Properly package bulbs and glass shards by putting into a puncture-resistant, non-breakable, sealed container (i.e. plastic tub, plastic bleach bottle, milk container or pop bottle) or by wrapping it in two layers of paper and bagging them. Label as "sharps" with a permanent marker, and place in your black cart.

Properly packaged light bulbs and tubes can also be taken to City landfills for disposal. Charges will apply.
