How to dispose
There are two ways to dispose of meal kit delivery packaging depending on the items.
Black cart garbage

Put into your black cart
Put the following items into your black cart as garbage.
- Compostable plastic packaging
- Ice packs
- Do not drain gel/liquids down the drain. Double-bag and tie closed before disposing in garbage.
- Even if the ice packs are labelled as "compostable", "bio-degradable" or "recyclable", these products are not acceptable in City programs and must be disposed of as garbage.
Blue cart recycling

Put into your blue cart or take to a community recycling depot
Put the following items into your blue cart or take to a community recycling depot for recycling:
- Cardboard boxes (must remove any foil)
- Plastic trays (remove any plastic film)
- Meal prep containers
- Recipe instructions
- Paper bags
- Foam packaging
- Coated paper packets and satchels
- Mini condiment containers
- Plastic bags, wrappers and spice packets
