Residents can recycle clean aluminum foil, plates, pie tins, and containers in their blue cart and at community recycling depots. Please ball up your aluminium foil so it's easier to recycle.
If you live in an apartment, townhouse or other multi-family complex, aluminum foil, plates and containers should be accepted in your building's recycling program.
Starting November 1, 2016, we require businesses and organizations to recycle all the materials we do at home, plus scrap metal, clear plastic film (polyethylene) and wood. For more details, please view the recycling requirements for businesses and organizations.
Throw it out
Tin foil, plates and containers that cannot be cleaned can be thrown out in your black cart or garbage.
Foil that is used to seal yogurt or other containers cannot be recycled as it is a mixture of aluminum and plastic. You should throw it away in your black cart or garbage.
